The list of products used at the Bar D is quite extensive! We will be adding all of our favorite products and what and why We use them. This is simply what we do and should not be duplicated without the advice of a professional in person. Results may vary.

LubrisynHA– LubrisynHa is a staple in our barn! Over the last 16 years, we have fed ONE single supplement to aid in joint health, that one supplement has always been LubrisynHa. We feed it to young horses to maintain joint health as they age, older horse to ease the joint fluid loss and competitive horses to give them that edge over the rest of the competition. Have a horse recently get injections, we add this supplement to his diet to help the injections last a little longer! It is extremely palatable and event our most picky of eaters cleans their buckets!! Use Code: DJ2022 for a discount on your purchase if you feel like it would make a good addition to your feeding program.

Treeless Saddles- Bar D consists of a variety of horses with a wide variety of conformation. The students here range widely in age and build as well. Our priority is to keep the horses comfortable, but also keep the riders comfortable and secure. Majority of our lesson horses are ridden in Treeless Saddles for these reasons. We ride Bob Marshall Sports Saddles, Circle Y Treeless Saddles, and Tammy Fisher Treeless Saddles by Circle Y. The horses all do extremely well, rarely get any soreness in their backs, and the riders love being able to feel the movements of the horses as well as feeling secure and having a wide range of motion in their legs. Although the treeless saddles have less stability in the stirrups, they do seem to build riders to be more aware of their legs and feet and learn to steady their legs to compensate for the stirrup freedom. The key to the perfect fitting treeless saddle for us, is the pad!

Jim Warner type Hackamore (Short Shank)- The Jim Warner type Hackamore is our go to head gear. The mechanics of this hackamore give the students the feel of having a bit, yet keep the horses happy by keeping learning hands out of their mouths. The physics of the shanks and the way the pressure is distributed between the noseband and the curb chain give this students plenty of control, but also allow the horses a little bit of forgiveness to green hands learning to guide and learning about pressure. The rope noseband can be wrapped to soften it for the overly sensitive skinned horses but we rarely have that. Although we teach the mechanics and reasons for use of a wide range of other bits, this is by far the most used head gear of the Bar D.

DuraLyteA and Apple-A-Day are two of the go to electrolytes! We use them year round in our feeding program! We use them in the summer months to keep horses hydrated when they are loosing all their vitamins from sweating. In the winter time we add electrolytes to the horses diets to keep them drinking plenty of water especially on cold days when their water intake decreases. Both brands can be found at most feed stores and Tractor Supply stores.
